A Royal Navy officer’s sword and scabbard dating between 1847 & 1856

The Royal Navy officer’s sword has the solid basket hilt with crown and fouled anchor device, full maned lion’s head pommel, and turn down plate to the back of the hilt. The fish skin grip with wire binding remains in good condition and some of the original gilt finish remains. The leather of the scabbard is in much better condition than usual.
