Acteon SERVOTOME II
ACTEON · Dental Electrosurgery Servotome II Electrosurgery Unit The Servotome II is a high-frequency electrosurgery unit for the incision and coagulation of soft gingival tissue. Drawing on ACTEON's 30+ years of high-frequency experience, its conductive bracelet system lets just 30 watts deliver precise cutting and reliable haemostasis — with controlled heat dispersal and lower leakage currents. Two potentiometers set incision and coagulation independently, so energy output can be tuned to each tissue type. 30 W · Power & Safety Separate Incision & Coagulation Control Conductive Bracelet · 10 Autoclavable Electrodes Clinical Insight What clinicians are saying Real-world feedback from dental practitioners using the Servotome II for soft-tissue procedures. "For crown and bridge work, what I really want is a clean, dry field at the margin. Being able to set incision and coagulation on two separate dials means I manage the bleeding as I go, so the gingival margin stays clearly visible right through to the impression. And I'm getting that at 30 watts — I'm not pushing unnecessary power into the tissue." Crown Margins · Haemostasis · Impressions "The two-dial layout made it genuinely easy to pick up — I fine-tune to the tissue in front of me rather than fighting the device. Frenectomies and minor gingival recontouring heal cleanly for my patients, and the fact that the electrode holder and tips go straight through the autoclave means it fits our infection-control routine without any extra steps." Frenectomy · Gingival Recontouring · Everyday Use Resources Product Documentation Product Brochure User Manual Highlights The perfect alliance of power & safety Every detail of the Servotome II is built for quick, precise, safe soft-tissue surgery — for both operator and patient. Power & Safety 30 watts is enough Thanks to the conductive bracelet and current concentration, just 30 watts performs all dental incision and coagulation procedures. Decreased wattage means a better yield, controlled heat dispersal and lower leakage currents — power delivered with maximal efficacy and less energy loss. Precise Control Incision and coagulation, set independently Two potentiometers adjust incision and coagulation separately on a 1–10 scale, so output can be tuned to each tissue type. A fully rectified and filtered current delivers a constant, controlled signal for a swift, precise surgical gesture that respects biological tissues. Patient Safety Conductive bracelet — focused, safer current The conductive bracelet is the neutral (return) electrode, worn on the patient's right arm. Easy to install and disinfect, sized to avoid heat concentration and adjusted to a low-resistance contact area, it focuses the current where it is needed and complies with the latest safety standards. Handling & Hygiene Light, autoclavable electrode holder The electrode holder is light, disconnectable and autoclavable, with simple-to-mount electrodes insulated by a sheath so only the active tip contacts the soft tissue. Ten fine, high-energy-concentration electrodes in various designs and diameters cover a wide range of clinical situations. Applications Controlled power for everyday soft-tissue surgery The Servotome II is indicated for incision and coagulation of soft gingival tissue across a broad range of procedures. Incisions & Excisions — Clean, controlled soft-tissue incision and excision with a fine active electrode. Frenectomy — Precise release of the frenum with minimal bleeding and clear visibility. Gingivoplasty & Gingivectomy — Reshaping and precise tracing of the ideal gingival line. Coagulation & Haemostasis — Controlled surface coagulation for haemostasis without damage to adjacent tissues. Abscess Incision & Drainage — Fast, deep treatment of soft-tissue abscesses. Exposure of Impacted / Retained Teeth — Circular incision for a clean, successful exposure. Techniques of Use Key electrosurgical effects The Servotome II delivers incision, coagulation and — thanks to its two independent dials — cutting with coagulation, each selected by effect and electrode. Electrosection Vaporising tissue with the active electrode cuts quickly without damaging the edges of the incision — for smooth cuts, no side effects and quality tissue healing. Coagulation Concentrating energy at the surface of a larger electrode diffuses heat to the surrounding tissue to produce instantaneous haemostasis. Cutting with coagulation An incision made with better visibility, accompanied by deep, immediate coagulation — the two independent dials let you combine a clean cut with haemostasis in a single pass. Electrode Range Ten electrodes by size & hemostatic capacity The package includes one of each electrode — fine, high-energy-concentration tips in various designs and diameters for fast, safe assembly across clinical situations. The bracelet is the neutral return electrode — place it on the patient's right arm, opposite the heart, and not too close to the wrist (the bones there reduce conductivity). Adjust it so its whole surface contacts clean, lesion-free skin; conductive gel can improve contact. A secure, full-surface contact focuses the current and keeps leakage low. 2 Set incision and coagulation independently — start low. The two potentiometers run 1–10. Begin at a lower setting for the tissue type in front of you and increase only as needed; fine, even cuts come from matching power to tissue, not from excess output. 3 Match the electrode to the task. Use the fine Ø 0.22 mm electrodes for incision and excision, Ø 0.40 mm for coagulating incision, and the larger FC electrodes (Ø 1 / 2.5 / 3.2 mm) for fulguration and coagulation. Electrodes mount quickly and only the active tip is exposed. 4 Respect the intermittent duty cycle. The unit is designed for intermittent activation — 10 s ON / 30 s OFF, up to 5 cycles, followed by a 10-minute stand-by. Avoid prolonged continuous activation, which can trip the thermal cut-out and interrupt the procedure. 5 Insulate nearby metal — keep the electrode off implants and restorations. As a monopolar device, do not let the active electrode contact metal in the current path. The manufacturer recommends insulating metal surfaces — dental implants, amalgams, inlays/onlays and brackets — with plastic mylar, and taking additional precautions around implants, crowns and metallic prostheses. 6 Clean and autoclave after every patient. The electrode holder, its cord and the electrodes are disconnectable and autoclavable. Use only SATELEC / ACTEON electrode holders and electrodes with the unit. ⚠ Operating Notice: The Servotome II is a Class IIb / electrically Class I (Type BF) medical device for professional dental use only, intended for incision and coagulation of soft gingival tissue. Per the manufacturer's Instructions for Use, it must not be used on patients fitted with an active implantable device such as a pacemaker, cochlear implant or vagus nerve stimulator (risk of interference), and should not be used with incomplete anaesthesia or in delicate surgery such as mucoperiosteal surgery or grafts. Follow AS/NZS and infection-control guidelines. Refer to the Instructions for Use for full indications, contraindications, warnings and handling requirements.
