Gingham by Aimée Gille

Gingham by Aimée Gille I made this scarf because I wanted something I could wear while riding my bike through Paris. Something I could tie on and then forget about. It's knit in basketweave, back and forth — the kind of knitting that becomes a rhythm after a while and leaves your mind free to wander. An i-cord edge runs from tip to tip, and the whole scarf is reversible, which feels especially right for something meant to be worn on a bike. There's no wrong side. It can twist and move and do whatever the wind wants it to do. I also wrote the pattern for any weight of yarn, because I love the idea of making it with whatever you already have — a yarn you've been saving, a color you keep coming back to. Some scarves are made to sit beautifully around your neck. This one was made to always be with you, wherever you go.
