Tarantula
White Press, 1970. Softcover. 79 pages. 27,5 x 22 cm. Text in English. Used. VG · Cover shows minor signs of wear. One of the earliest bootleg editions of Dylan’s novel, predating the 1971 trade edition. Written in 1966, Tarantula is a collection of poems and prose that captures the turbulence of the time and offers a unique insight into Dylan’s creative evolution. Angry, funny, and strange, the texts reflect many of the concerns found in his most seminal music: protest, verbal playfulness and spontaneity, and a fascination with chronicling everyday life and eccentricity on the street. A scarce early edition of one of Dylan’s most unusual literary works.
