0.0591" (1.50mm) x 8mm LOC Single O-Flute Carbide End Mill, Up Cut, 1/8" Shank – MO-131 This single O-flute solid carbide end mill features a 0.0591" (1.50mm) cutting diameter, 8mm length of cut, single O-flute geometry, and a standard 1/8" shank. Its polished, uncoated solid carbide construction makes it well suited for precision CNC routing, milling, profiling, slotting, and trimming in plastics and other suitable soft or non-ferrous materials. The O-flute geometry provides generous chip space and efficient chip evacuation, making it especially well suited for machining acrylic, plastics, HDPE, polycarbonate, PVC, and other machinable plastic materials. It may also be used for suitable wood products, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials when proper feeds, speeds, chip clearing, and workholding are used. The polished, uncoated carbide cutting surface provides a sharp cutting edge without an added coating layer. The polished flute surface helps promote smooth chip flow, which is especially useful when machining plastics where heat buildup and chip re-cutting can affect cut quality. The up-cut design pulls chips upward and away from the cutting area for efficient evacuation. This is particularly useful in slotting and deeper cuts where chip clearing is important. Up-cut geometry can also provide good bottom-edge cut quality. Because the cutting action tends to lift the workpiece and chips upward, secure workholding is recommended and top-edge finish should be considered when the visible upper surface is critical.
