Explanation of Al-Qasidah Al-Ha'iyah on Asceticism, Endearment & Inspiration of Fear Poem by Shaykh Hafidh ibn Ahmad ibn 'Ali al-HakamiShaykh Hafidh al-Hakami, the renowned scholar of the 14th century Hijri, is known for setting the sciences of the religion into memorable verse. His Ha'iyah is a poem of admonition: it calls the heart away from attachment to this world (zuhd), awakens hope and love for Allah's reward, and instills the fear that keeps a believer from sin. This explanation goes through the poem verse by verse, clarifying its meanings and supporting them with the Qur'an, the Sunnah, and the sayings of the Salaf. The reader is reminded of death, the grave, and the Hereafter, and of the shortness of worldly life — while being encouraged toward repentance and good deeds rather than despair.A moving work for softening the heart, and a fine companion for anyone who benefits from classical poetry of admonition.Book Details Poem: Shaykh Hafidh ibn Ahmad al-Hakami Publisher: Maktabatul-Irshad Publications Pages: 118 Language: English Topic: Heart Softeners — Asceticism, Hope & Fear
