Dates: Friday September 18th and October 16th Time: 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM Location: Newmarket Instructor: Naomi B. The Little Ghost Who Was a Quilt – Beginner Quilt Class This is a two-part beginner-friendly quilting class, perfect for anyone who wants to learn how to sew while making a beautiful themed quilt inspired by the book The Little Ghost Who Was a Quilt. We will be using a pre-made quilt kit for this project, which includes a variety of coordinated blue fabrics for the quilt top, binding, and the book. The finished quilt measures 58" square and is a wonderful companion project to the story by The Little Ghost Who Was a Quilt, illustrated by Byron Eggenschwiler. In class, you will learn: How to sew accurate 1/4" seams How to piece squares together How to build your quilt top step by step Finishing basics and next steps for batting and backing What’s included in your class: Quilt kit (fabric for quilt top + binding) Hardcover Book- The Little Ghost Who Was a Quilt Step-by-step instruction in two sessions Supply List - what you need: Sewing machine in good working order 1/4" piecing foot (required) Thread for piecing Pins or clips Scissors for snipping threads Batting and backing fabric (to complete your quilt after class) This class is designed to be simple, supportive, and confidence-building. By the end, you’ll have a beautiful quilt top and the skills to continue quilting on your own.
