FOR RAYAN | Vintage, 1960s sapphire and diamond cluster engagement ring
Provenance A Vintage natural blue sapphire and diamond coronet cluster ring. Made in 1964 and stamped with the London assay office mark, this ring is beautifully proportioned and excellently made. Set to centre with a natural midnight blue sapphire, oval shaped cushion-cut, claw set in an open-back setting that allows light to pass through and dance within the stone. Surrounded by eight round brilliant-cut diamonds, perfectly matched in colour and clarity, and delicately claw set in platinum to make them sparkle even brighter! The gallery is intricately pierced and sits low in profile, making this the perfect ring to be worn and adored everyday. The Edwardian-style of this ring is obvious from the proportions, details and even the small chenier details in the lightly raised shoulders. The Natural Stones Sapphire weight: 1.78ct Sapphire size: Length 7.8mm; Width 6.5mm; Depth 4.4mm Sapphire: natural, oval cushion-cut. Total diamond weight: 0.80ct; eight round brilliant-cut diamonds. The Band Metal Composition: 18ct yellow gold, platinum Hallmarks: Marked with hallmarks that trace the ring to London 1963. Further marked with '18' indicating 18ct yellow gold and 'PLAT', indicating platinum. Further marked with 'JHL' makers mark which we were unable to trace further.
