Guided Ceremonial Cacao Tasting - Ferndale, MI 6/20/26

Join Soul Lift Cacao founder Nick Meador for a guided tasting to learn about all the subtle differences in our single-origin cacao varieties from Latin America. We'll taste five cacao varieties from Mexico and Central America. All the cacao is prepared in small batches by sovereign indigenous groups, and sourced through ethical direct trade (real human relationships). The seeds (a.k.a. "beans") are roasted over wood fire and peeled by hand the traditional way. With a "tree to cup" slideshow presentation, you'll learn about the whole life cycle of cacao (the original form of chocolate) and how to use all your senses to really appreciate the subtle differences. You'll leave with a whole new perspective on the chocolate industry and how to enjoy chocolate in a healthier, more sustainable way. Pre-registration is highly recommended!
