Archive 100% Silk c. 1990 150cm in Length 8cm Blade 3 Folds Self-Tipped Handmade in Italy ABOUT THE TIE The deep navy ground carries a repeating abstract geometric motif in silver and champagne, a stepped, architectural pattern that has the precision and confidence of Milanese design at its most assured. The motif has an almost graphic quality, catching the light differently at different angles, and the high sheen of the silk ground gives the tie a clean authority that suits formal dressing particularly well. Each tie in The Vintage Collection is handmade in Italy, cut to our current silhouette. The construction and finish are identical to everything else we make. The difference is the cloth. HOW TO STYLE THIS TIE The early 1990s produced some of the most technically accomplished silk weaving of the twentieth century, and this is a good example of why. The pattern is sharp and the cloth has real weight and presence. It pairs well with navy, charcoal, and mid-grey, and is particularly good for occasions that call for precision, board meetings, formal dinners, and anything else where the details are noticed.
