Krug 'Grande Cuvee No 172' Champagne MV

This 172nd edition of Krug’s ‘Grand Cuvée’ is an impressive blend of 146 different wines from 11 vintages. The blend is about 44% Pinot Noir and 36% Chardonnay rounded out with a 20% of Pinot Meunier. The wine is rich, vibrant, and loaded with flavors of honeyed stone fruit, baked apples, brioche, ginger, marzipan, and sweet spice. The finish is clean, tense, and very long lasting. The wine is drinking beautifully now, though could certainly withstand 15-25 more years in the cellar.
