Folded Paper Black Fan
Fabric that didn't make the cut, set aside and never meant to be seen. When a longtime collaborator closed its doors, we took in what was left behind. Mottainai, the Japanese word for the regret of letting something go to waste. We brought that fabric to Hakuchikudo, founded in Kyoto in 1718. For over 300 years, this fan maker has passed its craft from artisan to artisan. A single fan passes through nearly 80 stages. That craftsmanship gave a second life to fabric that almost disappeared. Origami's geometry in black on beige, the sharpest colorway in the series. The more you open it, the more the flat becomes dimensional. Its beauty is renewed every time. Eight exist, each slightly different. Each season, we work with Hakuchikudo to bring a small selection of fans to the shop, each one made from a different reclaimed fabric.
