Tequila Blanco, Cosecha 2020 Blanco tequila produced in Tequila, Jalisco, by Tequileña (NOM 1146) Maestro Destilador Enrique Fonseca Distilled in 2020 100% Pinto Azul aka Blue Weber (Agave tequilana) grown at elevations over 6,700 feet in San Ignacio Cerro Gordo, Jalisco Cooked 24 hours in a low-pressure autoclave with a 6-hour pre-cook and a 6-hour rest Crushed using a screw mill and roller mill Fermented in stainless steel tanks using deep well water and proprietary yeast Double distilled in copper alembic pot stills Rested in stainless steel before bottling Additive free 45.7% ABV The 2020 vintage of Fuenteseca’s Cosecha, or “harvest,” blanco tequila was distilled from Pinto Blue Weber—a subtype of Agave tequilana notable for the dark spotting that covers its pencas—grown over 6,700 feet above sea level in the red, iron-rich, volcanic sandy loam soil of San Ignacio Cerro Gordo. The high nutrient content of the soil combined with the cool climate of the region offer ideal conditions for agave growth and contribute to the soft florality and gentle sweetness of this exquisite batch.
