A fanciful pair of Edwardian earrings — moonstone cabochons studded with diamonds topped by delightful diamond clovers. Beautifully reimagined from Edwardian shirt studs or cufflinks, transformed by a loving caretaker at some previous intersection, these earrings are quite compelling. With platinum bezeled diamonds nestled into the moonstone cabochons rimmed in platinum topped pink 15ct — a combination of materials and ingenuity that speaks to excellent Edwardian English Craftspersonship. Diamond clovers crown the tops in platinum, set over 15ct gold backs, creating a layered interplay of metals that rewards close examination. The pair weighs a pleasing 3.78 grams — 1.89g per earring — and drops a graceful 1 inch inclusive of the earring tops. But it is the moonstones that steal the show. These are blue Schiller cabs — not the grey silk Schiller of most fine Victorian moonstones, but the rarer blue ghost adularescence found in the finest feldspar specimens. An arresting luminous phenomenon that appears to float within the stone, subtly changing from grey to blue within the pendulous 12mm diameter of each cabochon.
