Flor de Barcelona
Screen Print Edition. Capturing a street Print from Barcelona. During our stay in Barcelona, we printed our own version of the city’s most iconic paving design — the concrete tiles known as Flor de Barcelona. This true urban symbol decorates vast parts of the cityscape. In 1916, Barcelona’s city council held a competition to design new paving stones to beautify the streets. The historic company Escofet won the competition, creating five different designs known as panots. The Flor de Barcelona motif is inspired by tiles originally designed for the courtyard of the Casa Amatller on Passeig de Gràcia, a building by architect Puig i Cadafalch. Follow the coordinates on the T-shirt to discover its origin! Hand-printed in Berlin.
