Throwing I (Beginner Throwing)
Wednesdays, June 10th – July 15th, 2026
11AM-2PM
This six-week course provides a structured introduction to wheel throwing for students with little to no prior experience in ceramics. Class is also an excellent refresher for students returning to the wheel after a hiatus. Over the course of six sessions, students will develop foundational skills including centering, throwing cylinders and bowls, trimming, handle construction, and glazing techniques. By the final session, students will have produced pieces that they are proud of and gained the technical foundation needed to continue developing their practice. Studio clay (cone 6 brown stoneware) is provided and kiln firings are handled by the studio. Students are encouraged to bring their own tools, however beginner’s toolkits are available at the first session anyone need them.
