2014 Giambattista Valli Documented Silk Cream Floral Maxi Dress

This gown was the final look (31 of 31) in the lookbook for Giambattista Valli’s Pre-Fall 2014 collection. The season was defined by ease, and this gown is generously crafted to a free-flowing style from sheer silk-chiffon. The pale cream, feather-light silk is printed with smudgy, painterly florals in raspberry pink, chartreuse and lilac. Taking its lead from the brand’s couture tendencies, Valli’s ready-to-wear designs remain playful and inherently wearable. Made in Italy, the dress is an elevated take on a 1940s tea-dress silhouette with caped shoulders forming short, fluttering sleeves. The waist is cinched by a wide waistband crafted from ruched, printed silk to create a cummerbund effect. The skirt is full and floor-length, with swathes of silk that swirl around the wearer as they move. The dress is lined with tonal cream silk. It fastens at the back of the neck with a tonal zip and hidden hook-and-eye. This dress is in excellent condition with no issues of any note. 100% Silk and labelled an Italian size 42, which equates to a UK 10 or US 6. The fabric has no stretch. MEASUREMENTS BUST - 36 in.
