2023 Charles Van Canneyt 'Les Sentiers' Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Region: Burgundy | Grape: Pinot Noir About the Wine Les Sentiers showcases the finesse and complexity of Pinot Noir, with nuanced aromas of red berries, floral notes, and spice, culminating in a silky texture and a lingering finish that embodies the terroir of this renowned vineyard. Through his extensive network of Burgundy’s finest growers, Charles sources excellent grapes. By style, it’s aligned with the family wines, pure and terroir transparent. Les Sentiers sits just south of Bonnes Mares on the border with Morey Saint Denis, and with its rich brown soils can display traits more closely aligned with its neighbour than is typical of other Chambolle sites. After being pressed, the wine is collected to be aged in Charles’ cellar. Maturation is undertaken in French oak barrels for twelve months with about 15% new oak used for the premier crus, bringing a soft oak input and championing the terroir. About Charles Van Canneyt Having helmed the iconic Domaine Hudelot-Noellat since 2008, Charles Van Canneyt is well known among burgundy connoisseurs. Charles is Alain Hudelot’s grandson and a very talented and skilled winemaker in his own right.
