Steam Pure. Nothing Else. Every component that touches your food is Grade 1 titanium. The pot, the removable steam basket, the vented lid, the foldable handles. The first full-titanium steamer pot built for the trail and the home kitchen. Over a year in the making - every component that touches your food is Grade 1 titanium. The pot, the removable steam basket, the vented lid, the foldable handles. No PFAS. No PTFE. No aluminum. No coatings to chip, peel, or leach into your meal. Whether you're steaming dumplings on Sunday or rehydrating a backpacking meal at 10,000 feet, the Valtcan 2800ml Steamer Pot does both in one piece of cookware that weighs just 511 grams. Why Titanium Matters for Steaming Steam carries flavor and on coated, aluminum, or stainless cookware, that steam picks up whatever the metal is doing under heat. Coatings off-gas. Aluminum reacts with acids. Steel alloys can leave a faint metallic edge on delicate foods like fish or vegetables. Titanium is biologically inert. It doesn't react with anything. Your steamed bao taste like bao. Your fish tastes like fish. Nothing else. Grade 1 titanium is also 40% lighter than stainless steel at the same strength. A 2.8L stainless steel steamer with a basket and lid typically runs 1,200–1,500g. Ours weighs 511g - full kit. Your shoulders know the difference. Built for Two Worlds At home. Steam dumplings, bao, tamales, fish, and vegetables. Use the basket as a colander. Pull the basket out and the pot becomes a 2.8L stockpot for boiling pasta or simmering stocks. Vented lid prevents boil-overs. On the trail. Foldable wire side handles tuck flush against the pot body so it slides into your pack. Drop the steam basket inside, nest a smaller cup or stove inside that, and the whole kit packs flat. Drawstring mesh carry bag (included) keeps soot off your other gear and lets the pot air-dry between uses. Grade 1 commercially pure titanium - the same grade used across all Valtcan products and in surgical implants. 99.5%+ titanium content. No alloying metals, no coatings, no PFAS, no PTFE. Will it work on my induction stove? Yes. Grade 1 titanium isn't ferromagnetic on its own, but this steamer's base is built to work with induction cooktops in addition to gas, electric, open flame, and camp stoves. Can I put it directly in a campfire? Yes. Titanium handles direct flame without damage or degradation. Keep handles oriented away from the hottest part of the flame to preserve any silicone grip components. How many people does it feed? Comfortably 2–4. The 2.8L capacity is large enough for a full meal of rice, vegetables, and protein, or roughly 20–24 medium dumplings per batch. Is it dishwasher safe? Yes. Titanium doesn't corrode, stain, or degrade from dishwasher detergents. Will the surface develop a patina? Yes - heat patina (blue, gold, bronze, purple tones) is normal and expected when titanium is heated. It's a thin oxide layer that's cosmetic only and doesn't affect cooking performance, food safety, or durability. Many users find it adds character. Do I need to season it? No. Unlike carbon steel or cast iron, titanium cookware never needs seasoning. It's ready to use out of the box. Can I use metal utensils? Yes. There's no coating to scratch - the cooking surface is the titanium itself. Cosmetic scratches don't affect performance. How does it compare to my stainless steel steamer? Roughly half the weight at the same capacity. No metallic taste interaction. No corrosion. No expiration date.
