All materials are provided, and all skill levels are welcome. You'll learn the carbon paper technique and work with it to illustrate your pages, exploring storytelling and the montage of a book along the way. You'll then fold your pages into a leporello format and bind them into a hardcover, finishing with a textile collage cover made from bookbinding cloth and fabric. By the end, you'll have a complete artist book with carbon-paper illustrated pages and a custom fabric-covered case. Language: German and English Stornierungs- und Rückerstattungsbedingungen für Workshops Instructor Julia Fabricius (born 1993 in Gothenburg, Sweden) works as a book designer and illustrator and assists in a book bindery. She moved to Berlin from New York more than 7 years ago, where she was studying fine arts and art history at Brooklyn College. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Design in 2018, and after that, she studied book history at Lund University, Sweden, and did an internship at Buchbinderei Klünder, Berlin. In 2021 she started to give online classes in bookbinding and drawing for kids through the digital platform The Yellow Elefant. Olga Epikhina is a Berlin-based illustrator whose work combines traditional analogue and digital media. Her illustrations often utilise hand-printing techniques such as stencilling and are focused on creating narrative-driven artwork. In 2021, her illustrations were featured in the Bologna Children's Book Fair Illustrators Exhibition, a global platform that highlights emerging talents in children's illustration. In addition to her artistic practice, Olga leads various creative workshops. She conducts riso-print workshops at Drucken3000 (a riso-print studio in Berlin) and has co-founded the Brush Up Club, where she has co-hosted sessions for four years aimed at fostering skill development and collaboration among illustrators. Her workshops focus on integrating artistic techniques with storytelling in a practical, hands-on format.
