Titanium Neck Reinforcement Bars (Pair)
The KTS titanium bar was first adopted as a neck reinforcement on both sides of the truss rod by Ibanez, such as on their Ibanez Prestige S Series. The reinforcement bars are designed to stabilise the neck and maintain straightness, allowing the truss rod to function effectively. They help reduce deformation caused by string tension, temperature, humidity, and other external forces. Titanium provides a balance of rigidity and flexibility, supporting consistent neck behaviour across instruments. KTS produces the bars using a cold rolling process. Titanium wire rod is pressed, stretched, and work-hardened into a flat bar with a rectangular cross-section. This process ensures optimal elasticity, enabling the bar to return to its original shape when stressed. To improve neck stability, place a reinforcement rod on either side of the truss rod. For 5- or 6-string basses featuring dual truss rods, a common professional setup involves three reinforcement rods: one flanking each side and one positioned between the truss rods. This configuration significantly increases rigidity without sacrificing the truss rod’s ability to adjust the neck's relief. Unlike carbon fiber alternatives, these titanium rods don't require epoxy or glue - route the channel and press the rod into place. Note: If you haven't installed a truss rod before, we strongly suggest having a professional guitar technician handle the installation. The KTS titanium reinforcement is available in the following sizes: TRB-450 (Guitar): 6mm × 3mm × 450mm (0.236" × 0.117" × 17-13/16") TRB-550 (Bass): 6mm × 3mm × 550mm (0.236" × 0.117" × 21-11/16") Price and sold as two bars.
