Unicorn in Captivity Vtg Crewel Embroidery, Finished Paragon 0846 Stitchery Medieval Old World Tapestry Style Adaptation

Exquisitely embroidered crewel piece called "The Unicorn in Captivity." Stitched by hand from an original Paragon Needlecraft stitchery kit #0846. A little background... "A sensitive stitchery adaptation depicting the rebirth of the legendary Unicorn, inspired by the last of the series of seven medieval tapestries "The Hunt of the Unicorn" dating back to the 1500's." Interpreted for Stitchery by Susan Goldsmith. Vibrant colors & excellent detail with a great Old World medieval tapestry vibe. Beautiful patina to the fabric because it was previously framed (see examples in final imgs - this is noticeable in person, just so you are aware). 50/50 poly/cotton Homespun fabric. Intended to fit a 16" x 20" inch frame; actual finished piece measures about 19" x 22" inches. *This is a finished embroidery piece, not a kit that requires completion. Given the vintage nature of the piece, expect to see minor attributes of age and previous life, such as pulled stitches, color variances, etc.
