De Long’s Wine Map of Italy IGTs - Wine Regions
Whether you're learning about wine or are a fan of Italian wines, this map is an essential reference. When it was released, this was the first modern, comprehensive, and accurate map of Italy's wine regions. Steve De Long (creator of the wine maps) said, 'It was complicated to produce, as most of it was a translation of written Italian wine laws into maps. But, luckily, it was well-received and became an impetus to carry on mapping the wine world.' This includes all DOC (Denominazione di Origine Controllata), DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita), and IGP (Indicazione Geografica Protetta) regions, as well as detailed maps of Piedmont DOCs, Piedmont DOCGs, and Chianti subregions. Includes: all IGT (Indicazione Geografica Tipica) regions. IGT is a less strict classification than DOC (Denominazione di Origine Controllata) based on geography that often includes varietal labelling. Italy's only up-to-date wine map produced in the past 20 years. This includes all wine regions in Italy and adjacent wine regions in France, Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia, and Tunisia. Detailed maps of Piedmont DOCS, DOCGs, and Chianti subzones. Dimensions - 24 x 36" (600 x 900mm) or 40 x 60" (1000 x 1500mm) Printed on 115 lb (170 gsm) premium matte paper. Suitable for framing. Published: 2026 No wine-producing country - not even the great France - can rival Italy's vast diversity of wine styles, grape varieties, and geography. Wine is so closely linked to the life and land of the Italians that it is popularly regarded as one vast and magnificent vineyard. Indeed, the ancient Greeks called their Italian colonies Oenotria, the land of wine. All the maps are created using the latest mapping technology, current wine laws and regulations for each region, and consultation with wine industry professionals.
