Dimensions: 8" x 5.25" x 6.25 1.2 lb Where did we get this piece? We acquired this human skull from a private collector, who believes it was used as a medical specimen at Yale University. An inscription on the back reads “Clay Adams Inc. New York, NY”. Clay Adams was one of the top providers of medical and lab equipment in the 1920’s; they sold things such as microscopes and surgical supplies, as well as human osteological specimens. The most likely origin for this human skull, along with others sold by the company, is India. It was the main source of human bones until 1987, when they banned the export. Is it legal? Yes. There are no federal laws in the United States prohibiting the sale of human bones. However, there are restrictions on human bones in Louisiana, Georgia, Tennessee, and Minnesota. Do some research on your state's laws!
