Hornady 98235 VEXIS™ Night Guard® Handgun Safe The Hornady VEXIS™ Night Guard® combines fast, contactless handgun access with the discreet appearance and everyday convenience of a bedside clock. Patent-pending palm vein recognition reads the unique vein pattern beneath the skin and verifies an authorized user in less than half a second, without requiring contact with the scanner. The system can store up to 10 palm vein patterns, and biometric data remains encrypted and stored locally inside the safe. A programmable six- to eight-digit keypad and two included backup keys provide alternate entry methods. A quiet, spring-assisted drawer opens to reveal a padded compartment for a handgun and other valuables. The 14-gauge steel exterior housing and hardened interior locking lugs help resist tampering, while an included security cable and pre-drilled mounting points provide two ways to secure the safe to a stationary structure. The dimmable clock display can be adjusted through five brightness levels or turned off. An integrated USB-C charging port can power compatible electronics while the safe is connected to AC power. The Night Guard® operates with the included 12V power supply or two 9V backup batteries, keeping its access system available during a power interruption.
