Afghan Balouchi Rug (180 x 113cm)

Hand-made Afghan Baluch Rug (180 x 113cm) Balochi rugs are woven in the border region of Balouchistan, where Afghanistan and Pakistan meet. This rug was woven on the Afghan side of Balouchistan, which includes the provinces of Nimroz, Helmand and Kandahar. Balouch rugs are usually slightly smaller than rugs from neighbouring regions, and use a soft, lightweight pile that made them easier to transport for the traditionally nomadic Balouchi people. They typically feature moody palettes, using colours such as midnight indigo, dark red, and chocolate brown.
