After the high levels of success achieved thanks to the MW1 Linkage for Austrian motorcycles, the second generation CR22 Linkage builds upon its predecessor, which gives birth to the all-new linkage for the Austrian machinery by REP Suspension. Experiencing a rigorous testing schedule with the new chassis while accommodating and collecting data from a multitude of riders, our goal was to establish commonalities inside the rider feedback, and then head in the general direction after gathering and interpreting the data to ensure our product works for a wide variety of riders. Commentary from riders eventuated in a confidence-inspiring ride thanks to being able to “ride in a better part of the stroke”, as our main focus became both heavy progression and bike geometry via rear static ride height. We focused on these areas after noticing the rear becoming too deep in the stroke, and therefore having nowhere to offload other than side to side. By having the linkage rapidly build force from 150mm of wheel stroke until the final wheel position, we found stability, predictability and comfort, removing any unexpected kicks when hitting a large bump. The CR22 Austrian New Generation Linkage is a true step up in performance and rideability, and a special thanks must go out to Jacob Hayes for the groundwork on development, and 2 x AMA Supercross Champion Chad Reed for getting the main goals started.
