Flower Mosaic

A Study in Yellow and Violet Sprays of golden oncidium orchids arc above a dense heart of violet sweet peas, orange ranunculus and lavender scabiosa. The color pairing is deliberate: yellow and purple sit opposite on the color wheel, so each one makes the other louder. Lena builds this to be seen from across a room. It suits a birthday, or any moment that deserves volume rather than restraint. Arranged in a glazed amber vessel with a white blossom motif, finished in our Upper West Side studio.
