ORIGIN: Panama REGION: Chiriquí VARIETIES: Geisha, Obata & Bourbon PROCESSES: Washed & Natural ABOUT THE SET Panama has become one of the world’s most celebrated coffee origins, combining exceptional varieties, high-altitude growing conditions and producers continually pushing the boundaries of quality. The Panama Varietal Set brings together three distinctive coffees from the highlands of Chiriquí, each offering a different expression of variety, terroir and processing. From the delicate florals and tea-like character of Geisha, through the expressive sweetness of Obata, to the vibrant fruit character of a naturally processed Bourbon, the set offers three completely different interpretations of Panamanian coffee. Three farms. Three varieties. Two processing styles. Three distinct cups. BERLINA ESTATE — GEISHA WASHED REGION: Chiriquí PRODUCER: Casa Ruiz VARIETY: Geisha PROCESS: Washed ALTITUDE: 2,000 masl TASTING NOTES: Jasmine, Nectarine, White Tea Founded in the early 1920s, Berlina Estate is one of Boquete’s historic coffee estates. Located in the Chiriquí Highlands, it has earned multiple Best of Panama finalist placements and international recognition for producing exceptional specialty coffees. Today, members of the Ngäbe-Buglé indigenous communities continue to hand-harvest the coffee cherries with great care, maintaining the attention to quality that has defined the estate across generations. This washed Geisha offers an elegant and delicate expression, with jasmine florals, nectarine sweetness and a refined white-tea character. AGRICOLA GEISHA — OBATA WASHED REGION: Chiriquí PRODUCER: Manuel Alexander Barsallo VARIETY: Obata PROCESS: Washed ALTITUDE: 1,800 masl TASTING NOTES: Floral Tea, Yellow Plum, Sweet Candy Founded with the vision of producing world-class coffee, Agricola Geisha cultivates specialty varieties across its farms in Boquete, Panama. Surrounded by the forests of Boquete and overlooking Barú Volcano, its coffees grow at high elevation under conditions that encourage slow and even cherry development. This Obata lot, cultivated at 1,800 metres above sea level, reflects the estate’s focus on innovation, precision and quality. Its washed processing highlights a distinctive profile of floral tea, yellow plum and candy-like sweetness. WILD FOREST — BOURBON NATURAL REGION: Cerro Punta, Chiriquí VARIETY: Bourbon PROCESS: Natural ALTITUDE: 1,800 masl TASTING NOTES: Pink Guava, Green Grape, Cherry From the volcanic highlands of Cerro Punta, this Bourbon is cultivated at 1,800 metres above sea level, where fertile volcanic soils, cool mountain temperatures and elevation create exceptional conditions for specialty coffee production. The combination of the classic Bourbon variety and a carefully managed natural process produces a more fruit-driven expression of Panama, with pronounced sweetness and vibrant complexity. Expect notes of pink guava, green grape and cherry, creating a lively contrast to the two washed coffees in the set.
