A George III sterling silver sauce boat or gravy boat by Daniel Smith & Robert Sharp, hallmarked London 1774. Traditional boat shape with gadroon border, on three legs with shell feet and acanthus capped double scroll handle, the body decorated with repousse scrolls, flowers and foliage*. Engraved with a family crest. 7.5" (19cm) long, 11.7 troy oz (364g). *The Rococo decoration on this piece was likely added in the mid 19th century.
