What actually differs about The Crystal Panel Grand is what you have to live with once it's up on the wall. And what differs from our 42-inch Crystal Panel and 50-inch Wide is one thing: 60 inches of flame across the wall — a full 18 inches wider than the base 42, 10 wider than the Wide. For great-room walls where 42 or 50 inches would look small, the Grand is the right shape. What Actually Differs 60 inches wide, 3.19 inches deep. Same ultra-thin profile as the rest of the Crystal Panel family. The extra 10 inches over the Wide (and 18 over the base 42) is the difference between "fireplace" and "great-room fireplace." Behind a full-length sectional, above a broad media console, or recessed into a wide accent wall, the Grand scales to the space instead of getting swallowed by it. Same 1500W element. Same 400 sq ft coverage rating. If you need to heat a bigger room, this doesn't do that — you need central heat or a second unit. The 60-inch buys you visual presence on the wall, not extra thermal output. It is not a whole-house furnace. 1500W is enough to warm a well-insulated 400 sq ft room to a comfortable temperature. A drafty 900 sq ft great room will feel warmer near the panel but the far corner will still need your regular heat. It is not a real fire. The flame effect and crystal ember bed look convincing at normal viewing distance, and the multicolor options are genuinely striking across 60 inches. But it is an LED-lit visual effect. No wood, no smoke, no crackling. It should not be left running unattended. The overheat shutoff and 1-12 hour timer exist because unattended space-heater use is how house fires happen. Use the timer. Never leave it on when you leave the house or go to sleep. It draws close to a full 15A circuit at 1500W. Plug it directly into a wall outlet, not a power strip or extension cord. If the outlet is on a shared circuit with a microwave or window AC, you'll trip the breaker when both are running. At 42 lbs across 60 inches, it is a two-person mount. Not because the weight is high (it's not) but because the length makes it awkward for one person to hold level and drop onto the bracket. If you're mounting solo, have a broom handle ready to prop up the far end.
