2024 'nearer to the sky' Macerated Sauvignon Blanc.

FARM Organic fruit from Toolamba (Yorta Yorta Country). The last harvest before the vineyard was ripped out. GRAPES 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Wild fermented. Zero additions. Zero sulphur. Unfined. Unfiltered. 11% Alc/vol. FIELD Wild fermented on a hillside without power. 13 days maceration. Barrel-aged on full lees for two years. Hand-bottled by gravity. TASTING Lovely bright lemon sherbet, lemon sorbet, lemon meringue pie with a squeeze of lime and whipped cream, stewed quince, flinty and rounded. DRINKING NOTE Picked early, this wine has terrific acid. It will soften out over the years, and as it does, will become uber moreish. Made for now AND tomorrow. Label art by Una Purbrick.
