Still Life With Good Intentions

35X45cm, acrylic on board This painting was meant to record the only time I ever attempted to make pumpkin soup. I bought the pumpkin, opened a bottle of red, put the chopping board under the light… and then looked out the window. Somewhere along the way I got completely distracted by the harbour and the way the light was falling across the bench. I honestly can’t remember whether the soup ever got made. The painting definitely did.
