Driftwood Single Site chardonnay 2025

This comes from two blocks off the Driftwood Vineyard. It typifies the vintage in many ways, with its fine elegance and precision. The whole bunch pressing adds a bit more weight and structure, with natural fermentation adding further complexity. There's a light lemon curd, savory combination on the palate, with a little stone fruit. But it's held quite tight and focused, and I suspect it will begin to reveal its best qualities in another three or four years. Score: 96/100 Cellar: 15 years
