The Rack

The Rack is a new adventure written by Ben Blattberg for Dead Mall, and is compatible with most OSR/NSR survival horror games. Play as teenagers sneaking into a 90s mall at night, as all hell breaks loose in this retro-classic style mall-based dungeon crawl. Since ancient days (at least the 1960s), a creeping force of Darkness has been slowly conquering the Mid-Island Mall: Richard Nixon. Now (sometime in the 90s), Nixon's spirit is preparing a final ritual to banish youth culture from the mall forever. All he needs is to sacrifice some hapless teens who wander in after hours—that’s you! Inside this adventure you will find: A full history of the mall, which is definitely not just an excuse for Ben to quote Walt Whitman! Over a dozen monsters from history and mythology like Reagan rat-things, white supremacist vampire Charles Lindbergh, a curiously recognizable fast-food chimera and many others! A fully detailed Dead Mall featuring 40+ stores and locations, not counting all the terrible bathrooms! Loose guidance on tweaking the rules to make the mall more forgiving or more deadly!
