Taraxacum officinale Certified Organic dandelion root, cultivated on purpose. We grow dandelion in field rows on our Charlevoix farm — not gathered from lawns or roadsides — then dig, wash, cut, and dry the roots in small batches. The difference shows in the root: field culture in living soil gives us thick, foot-long taproots, clean enough to trust in a daily brew. Why Our Dandelion Root Certified Organic and cultivated — grown in dedicated field rows in living soil, never wild-gathered from ground of unknown history Deep, well-formed taproots — field culture produces the large, dense roots that wild plants rarely give Dug, washed, cut, and dried in small batches — root work is slow work, and we do it in-house from field to bag Direct from our Québec farm — one origin, one grower, full traceability Key Uses Roasted dandelion root for a rich, coffee-style brew Simmered (decocted) on its own or with burdock-style bitter blends A classic bitter, traditionally used to support digestion and liver function Tinctures and vinegar extractions, fresh or dried How to Use Root wants a simmer, not a steep: use one to two teaspoons of dried root per cup, simmer gently for ten to fifteen minutes, covered, and strain. For a roasted brew, toast the dried root pieces in a dry pan until fragrant and deep brown before simmering — the result is dark, rounded, and pleasantly bitter. Fresh Root, Seasonally For tinctures and preparations that start from fresh material, we offer fresh dandelion root by pre-order, harvested to order rather than held in stock. Expected next harvest: September–October, at the fall dig. Minimum order 5 kg, shipped within Canada only. Order the fresh listing above or write to us to reserve your dig date, and see how our harvested-to-order system works.
