Black Cilice - Votive Fire CD

he highly anticipated seventh album from Portuguese enigma Black Cilice. As one of the most influential entities in raw black metal, this latest offering follows the pivotal 2022 record Esoteric Atavism and a productive 2024. Comprised of four monolithic tracks ("Released by Fire," "Vows Sworn for Centuries," "Into the Inner Temple," and "Deconstruction of All Realities"), the album serves as a conceptual channel for timeless energy, exploring themes of past lives, isolation, and spiritual transcendence. Musically, Votive Fire represents a subtle evolution, offering more approachable production and expansive song structures that stand independently while maintaining the project's signature shimmering rawness. The soundscape is both meditative and spacious, layering new melodic contours over a foundation that remains black metal to the core. It is a work of symbiosis where form and content unite, proving once again that Black Cilice exists in a realm entirely of its own making.
