Never saturate with water — moisture causes sisal fibres to swell and can permanently damage the backing. Daily care: Vacuum regularly, always with the pile direction — use a suction-only head, not a beater bar. Spills: Act immediately — blot dry with an absorbent cloth. Do not rub. Apply a small amount of sisal-safe dry cleaner if needed. Cleaning: Professional cleaning by a natural-fibre specialist only. Never wet-clean at home. Sunlight: Natural sisal may lighten slightly over time in strong sunlight — this adds to its organic character. Rotation: Rotate 180° every six months to distribute foot-traffic wear evenly. Important: Natural sisal rugs must never be wetted. Moisture causes the fibres to swell and can warp the latex backing. Always use a specialist natural-fibre cleaning service.
