Antique 9ct Gold Carnelian Bloodstone Locket

Description: Deep green Bloodstone, scattered with orange-red flecks, gives one face of this Victorian locket a richly patterned centre. Turn it over and a smooth oval of brick-red Carnelian offers a quite different view. The locket has a 9ct Gold back and front, with metal frames and hinge for strength and durability. It opens along a side hinge to reveal two oval compartments, bringing a hidden layer to the double-sided design. Item Details: ERA: Victorian (1837–1901). MEASUREMENTS: Locket measures 31mm long including jump ring. Locket measures 19mm wide. Carnelian measures 17mm long x 13mm wide. Bloodstone measures 17.5mm long x 13.5mm wide. WEIGHT: 7.2g. Condition: VERY GOOD: The polished stones show fine surface marks, while the patterned borders remain well defined. There are small splits beside the stones in their settings, although the stones remain secure. The Gold has surface wear and patina. The locket closes with a click.
