Arxiu Vol. 2, Oscar Tusquets - HEREU Book

SEGONA RESIDÈNCIA is an exhibition project built around personal collections. Each edition focuses on an invited figure, presenting a selection of works alongside a publication that extends the exhibition. The second edition presents a selection from the personal collection of Barcelona-based architect, designer, painter and writer Oscar Tusquets. Gathered over the course of his life through personal relationships, professional encounters and a sustained dialogue with Mediterranean culture, the collection brings together works by artists such as Salvador Dalí, Pablo Gargallo, Josep Llimona, Miquel Barceló, Juan Bordes and Javier Mariscal, alongside anonymous Greco-Roman antiquities. Together, they trace a journey through more than two thousand years of Mediterranean culture, free from hierarchies between art, architecture, design and antiquity. Across the selection, different periods, disciplines and approaches to the image coexist side by side. The sculptural body, a fascination with ornament and the relationship between art, architecture and design emerge as recurring threads, revealing connections between works that span different contexts and centuries. The publication offers a reading of the invited figure within their own space, combining a conversation with photographs of the house and the works as they exist in their domestic environment.
