She also describes its traditional application to the neck: "If swelling or scrofula grow on someone's neck, he should heat a crystal in the sun and tie it over the place for day or night. If he does this often, they will vanish." Regarding the heart and digestive system, she writes: "If he ails in his heart, stomach, or belly, he should heat the crystal in the sun and pour water over it, leaving the crystal in the water for a little while.
