Dress-Sole Inspired Driving Sole At the core of TOURER’s functionality lies Negroni’s original “Dress-Sole Driving Sole.” Each pair is hand-patinated at the Negroni Factory, combining the warmth of leather welts with high-performance rubber outsoles. With a 22mm heel height, TOURER transitions effortlessly from casual driving attire to business slacks and tailored ensembles. The outsole itself utilizes ultra-light Vibram Gumlite—produced exclusively at Vibram’s Italian factory. Its micro-foamed surface enhances grip during both walking and driving. The welting is carefully minimized around the toe area to avoid pedal interference, ensuring optimal clearance for precise control. The heel is tapered at an 80° angle, allowing seamless pivot movements essential in the driving position. Visually, the sole gives the impression of a double-layered construction, yet only 6mm contacts the ground—providing exceptional pedal feel. This unique construction, achieved through sculpted leather welts, preserves the aesthetic of a traditional dress shoe while maintaining performance and fit integrity.
