A fossilized piece of ancient history. Each Reisfields ceramic piece is handcrafted in our studio using a slip-cast process, then individually glazed and kiln-fired. Inspired by Guyana’s rich landscapes and waterways, every firing reveals subtle variations in color, texture, and finish. Making each piece truly one of a kind. The lid features a rare gastropod shell, dating back approximately 50–100 million years, formed when the Indian subcontinent lay beneath the ocean. The shell was naturally replaced by chalcedony and encrusted with drusy quartz. Recovered from rock in Madhya Pradesh, India, it was carefully hammered, chiseled, and hand-extracted to preserve a remarkable piece of Earth’s ancient history. Each ceramic vessel is paired with Signature Fragrance No. 9, our luxurious aquatic home fragrance inspired by Guyana, the Land of Many Waters. A sophisticated marine fragrance of bright lemon, Victoria amazonica water lily, solar notes, Ambroxan, musk, cedarwood, moss, and warm amber, No. 9 was created to evoke the serene feeling of being surrounded by water. Designed to be more than a candle vessel, each piece is functional art made to live beyond the flame.
