Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 48.8% A 25-year-old Glen Scotia single malt Scotch whisky, bottled in 2021 at 48.8% ABV. Matured in American oak barrels before being married in first-fill bourbon casks, this well-aged Campbeltown malt was bottled without chill filtration or added colouring. Founded in 1832, Glen Scotia is one of the few surviving distilleries in Campbeltown, a region once home to more than 30 whisky distilleries. Known for its distinctive maritime character, Glen Scotia produces single malts that often combine orchard fruit, gentle coastal influences and subtle oak notes. Glen Scotia 25 Year Old sits at the top end of the distillery's core range, with its extended maturation bringing together the sweetness of American oak, mature fruit and the characteristic coastal qualities associated with Campbeltown whisky. This particular release gained international recognition in 2021 when Glen Scotia 25 Year Old was awarded Best in Show Whisky at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, one of the industry's most prestigious awards. Official Tasting Notes Nose: Bracing Atlantic breeze gives strong maritime influence. Palate: Coastal air, red apple and tangy orange peel with vanilla syrup and caramel sweetness. Finish: Long lingering sea salt with a spicy note of ground ginger. San Francisco World Spirits Competition The Glen Scotia 25 Year Old was named the best whisky in the world for 2021. The San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) is not only one of the most prestigious spirits competitions in the world, but it is also the second oldest spirits competition in the world, having started in 2000. The SFWSC is judged by celebrated experts with decades of industry experience in their fields. The competition received almost 4000 entries across 31 categories - and our enduring 25 year old scotch was the overall winner, being recognised as the ‘Best in Show’. The Glen Scotia distillery and brand were well-represented among the award-winning whiskies at this competition, with our 10 year old whisky receiving a double gold medal and our 15 year old whisky winning gold too.
