Applied at 25 wet mils (0.64 mm), it forms the waterproofing layer of the assembly beneath the system's wear and top coats, bonding to properly prepared concrete and plywood decks. Key Characteristics One-component, moisture-curing polyurethane — no on-site mixing of a second component; cures with ambient moisture. Base coat of the Sikalastic® Traffic 1500 / 2000 systems — the waterproofing layer beneath the system wear course and topcoat. Strong adhesion to prepared substrates — for concrete and plywood decks prepared to the specified profile (minimum ICRI CSP 3 on concrete). Two grades — self-levelling for field areas; flash/sloping grade for details, cants and sloped surfaces. Typical Applications Balconies, walkways and plaza decks in Sikalastic® pedestrian traffic systems Parking structures and ramps as part of the specified Sikalastic® traffic system Stadiums, mechanical rooms and commercial deck waterproofing over concrete or plywood Limitations Do not apply to damp surfaces or substrates with moisture content above 4% by mass. Ambient and substrate temperature must be between +4 °C and +32 °C (40–90 °F) during application. Concrete must be mechanically prepared to a minimum ICRI CSP 3 profile; confirm primer requirements against the system documentation. Shelf life: 1 year in unopened 5-gal pails, stored per the TDS. Health & Safety Moisture-curing polyurethane — use ventilation and the personal protective equipment listed in the Safety Data Sheet during mixing and application.
