Original Painting titled Cradle Mountain Sunrise

Every year, all year around, locals and tourists alike, book in to walk the Overland Track on Cradle Mountain. The Overland Track is a 65km breathtaking journey through Tasmania's World Heritage-listed wilderness. It traverses diverse landscape, from alpine moorlands and glacial lakes to ancient rainforests, along with challenging, rewarding summits like Mt Ossa and unique wildlife spotting. At the break of dawn, this little wombat is about to start its Overland Track trek. I titled the original painting "Cradle Mountain Sunrise".© I love wombats! I have had the great privilege of enjoying seeing them in the wild. I actually have had the company of one for about an hour, while I was drawing outside. It munched on grass about a metre and a half from me the entire time I was sitting on my stool drawing. I thanked it several times aloud for keeping me company. It just ignored me and munched away. I drew my picture freehand, as I do all of my artwork, and painted this Tasmanian scene on Khadi Mill paper, made from recycled cotton rags. It is approximately 15 x 15 cm.
