Development & Research Hardware Kit R1S / R1T (GEN1) - Extreme Dev Kit An upgrade for the R1S / R1T (GEN1) that unlocks steering angle control, giving the best possible control over how the car steers. All features of the Longitudinal Upgrade are included, and the kit connects to a comma 3X or comma 4 over a single USB-C cable. Description Angle control commands the steering position directly, while torque control only requests a force on the wheel. That difference is why it tracks more precisely, holds tighter turns, and feels more planted on the desired path. Fully backward compatible. Torque control stays available whenever you want to fall back to it. Because the Longitudinal Upgrade is built into the same box, there is no second device to install or power. A second USB-C cable is only needed in rare cases, to attach a PC or smartphone for firmware updates.
