RARE GERMAN LANCE POINT MID-16TH CENTURY
Mid-16th century. Forged iron, 9 1/4” length with closed seam conical socket and thick leaf shaped point. Scattered pockmarks pitting with good overall surface and profile. The socket with remnants of original wood shaft. A knightly weapon made to breach the armor of a mounted adversary, it would have been originally mounted to a wood lance of 12-16’ length with a vamplate protecting the knight’s hand.
