Opuntia quitensis

Small flattened segments make up the cactus shrub Opuntia quitensis. Short clumps of spines cover the surface of each segment with small clusters of long sharp spines emerging near the tips. Bright orange blooms appear during spring and summer months. WATERING Water when soil is dry 100%. Water lightly (if at all) during winter months. LIGHT REQUIREMENTS Full sun. FEED Use a cactus fertiliser 3 times between March - November. REPOTTING Repot every 2-3 years. Use a well draining cactus compost, adding extra drainage such as perlite, pumice or grit.
