1908 Hunters Improvement Society Necklace

Where to begin with this spectacular necklace?! During the early 1900's in the UK, hunters formed a group focused on the improvement of fox hunting horse breeds. Medals such as this gorgeous sterling silver piece were given as awards. This 1 3/4" medal features several horses grazing on one side with a huntsman and hounds on the reverse. Below the huntsman, the date of 1908 has been engraved. The necklace has been suspended from a heavy 16" chain with a toggle closure.
